My Reason For Giving
My military experience and deep connection with my service dog have led me to reciprocate the support I received. Living my life with my service dog, I felt people should be able to more easily access their life-saving services, as they tend to be inaccessible and expensive. As I reintegrated into civilian society, words can’t express how instrumental my dog was in helping me acclimate to my new surroundings.
This gave me the freedom to be myself and create my own safe space. I decided to share this with others through dog training programs I developed. This group connected me to a wholesome, like-minded group of dog-loving Charlotteans from all walks of life.
After building that service, I created a company to help train dogs and educate pet parents. I believe that we bond better with our pets when we take the time to learn how to communicate with them while working with them; it also enhances other learned skills that translate into everyday life.
Outside of my company, I personally support, advocate, educate and volunteer with several local animal rescue organizations, and am tied nationally with many as well. I also teach pet CPR and First Aid at the Red Cross.
