Open House
Property Description
Nearly 5 Acres | 5 Bedrooms and Exceptional Garage Space Near Harrisburg
Some homes make sense because of the finishes. Others make sense because of what the property allows you to do.
10429 Starwood Drive is the second kind.
If you’ve been trying to find more room for vehicles, an RV, equipment, hobbies, storage or simply the things that no longer fit comfortably into a typical neighborhood property, this home offers a combination that’s increasingly difficult to find this close to Charlotte.
Set on approximately 4.96 fully fenced acres in Cabarrus County, the property includes a 3,500-square-foot home with five bedrooms and four full bathrooms, an oversized attached garage, extensive additional covered parking and no HOA. Three bedrooms, including the primary suite, are located on the main level, while two additional bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a loft create another flexible living area upstairs.
And while the acreage is certainly part of the appeal, the real value here is how all of these pieces work together.
A Property for the Things That Need More Room
One of the first things I noticed about 10429 Starwood Drive is that the garage and parking setup isn’t an afterthought.
The attached garage is more than 1,400 square feet and can accommodate multiple vehicles. It is also equipped with a motorized vehicle lift, creating the kind of workspace that will immediately make sense to someone who works on cars, collects them or simply wants more room than a conventional residential garage provides.
There’s additional covered space for an RV, trailer, lawn equipment or other recreational and property equipment, along with a gated gravel drive and plenty of room to maneuver larger vehicles.
That distinction matters.
There are plenty of homes around Charlotte with three or four bedrooms and a two-car garage. Finding a property where the house, acreage and vehicle or equipment storage all work together is considerably harder.
It also means you aren’t necessarily looking at this home because you need a larger house. You may be looking because you’ve outgrown the limitations of your current property.
3,500 Square Feet With More Flexibility Than You Might Expect
The exterior doesn’t immediately give away just how much living space is inside.
The main level accounts for approximately 2,135 square feet and includes the primary suite plus two additional bedrooms. The kitchen, dining and living areas connect easily, while a walk-in pantry and main-level laundry add practical storage and everyday functionality.
Upstairs is where the floor plan gets more interesting.
There are two additional bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a large loft, giving you approximately 1,365 additional square feet on the upper level. Portions of the upstairs have sloped ceilings, which give the space a different character than a conventional second story while still providing substantial finished space.
That layout creates options without requiring every room to have one predetermined purpose. There is room for guests, work-from-home space, hobbies, media, exercise or simply separation when you want different parts of the house being used at the same time.
The home has also been recently cleaned, repaired where needed, freshly painted and professionally staged, so buyers are seeing it in a significantly refreshed condition.
Nearly Five Acres With Room to Use Them
Acreage can mean very different things from one property to another, and that’s worth understanding before you schedule a showing.
The approximately 4.96 acres at 10429 Starwood Drive are fully fenced and offer considerably more separation and flexibility than a conventional subdivision lot. This is not, however, five acres of perfectly flat, manicured lawn.
The property is designed to give you room to actually use the space around you, which is part of what makes it work for someone who needs room for equipment, vehicles, storage, outdoor projects or other uses that would be difficult to accommodate on a smaller residential lot.
A back corner of the property is located within a mapped flood zone. The sellers report that they have experienced no flooding issues and have not been required to carry flood insurance. Buyers should independently verify flood information, insurance requirements and any future plans they may have for the property during their due diligence.
That same approach applies to potential additional structures. The acreage may create possibilities a smaller lot simply doesn’t offer, but I would never tell a buyer that an ADU or another structure can be built here without first confirming the proposed use with the appropriate zoning, permitting and other governing authorities.
More Practical Features Than You See at First Glance
Beyond the acreage and garage space, there are several features that become increasingly valuable once you start thinking about actually living here.
The property has city water and city sewer, rather than the well and septic systems commonly found with larger acreage properties. Wired internet is available, and the home also includes solar panels, a generator equipment, hot tub, storage and multiple covered outdoor areas.
There is no HOA.
For someone moving from a more conventional neighborhood, those details can substantially change what day-to-day ownership looks like. You get land and additional flexibility without automatically giving up some of the infrastructure buyers often associate with suburban living.
Why This Combination Is Hard to Find
This is where I think 10429 Starwood Drive becomes particularly interesting.
You’re getting approximately 3,500 square feet with five bedrooms and four full bathrooms on nearly five fenced acres, plus a garage and covered parking setup that would be difficult to recreate at many traditional residential properties. You also have city water and sewer, solar panels, a generator, gated access and no HOA.
The home is also being listed below its recent appraised value, and since that appraisal was completed, the sellers have invested additional time and money into repairs, maintenance, fresh paint and preparing the home for market. That matters because you’re seeing the property in a more polished condition today than it was when that valuation was completed.
For me, the value isn’t tied to any one of these features by itself. It’s the ability to get the house, the acreage, the garage, the parking and the flexibility in one property. That’s a combination I don’t see often, particularly without moving into a very different category of acreage home.
If your search keeps coming up short because the great house doesn’t have enough land, the acreage property doesn’t have enough house, or neither gives you enough room for the vehicles, RV, equipment or hobbies that need their own space, 10429 Starwood Drive deserves a closer look.
Who Is This Home Going to Make the Most Sense For?
The easiest way to know whether you should see this property is to think about what you’re trying to solve with your next move.
Maybe the RV is stored somewhere else. Maybe the garage is already full. Maybe you need space for vehicles, motorcycles, tools, lawn equipment or a hobby that has slowly taken over the rest of the house. Maybe you simply want more separation from neighboring homes without moving so far out that everyday access to Charlotte becomes impractical.
Those are the circumstances where 10429 Starwood Drive starts making a lot of sense.
You aren’t choosing between having enough house and having enough property. You have approximately 3,500 square feet with five bedrooms and four full bathrooms, nearly five fenced acres, substantial garage and covered parking space, and the flexibility to use all of it differently as your needs change.
For some buyers, the garage alone will be the reason to schedule a showing. For others, it will be having three bedrooms on the main level, bringing the RV home, finally having enough storage or simply finding acreage with city water and sewer.
It’s the combination that makes this property different, and if you’ve been trying to find all of those things in one place, you’ll understand pretty quickly why this one is worth seeing.
